    In Thailand, teachers are often seen as a second parent to all their students. Being highly respected as community leaders, a teacher is expected to be strongly equipped with deep knowledge on the subjects that they will teach.

    With our Graduate Diploma in Teaching Profession program, you will learn to combine passion, talent, skills, morals, and professional ethics, into a rewarding career aimed at inspiring and uplifting future generations.

    Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the licensure exam from the Teacher’s Council of Thailand. After successfully passing the exam you will be granted the official/permanent teaching license.

    What will I learn?

    As a requirement from the Ministry of Education, all school teachers in Thailand are obliged to receive training on advanced teaching methodologies to obtain their teaching licenses. In 2013, St. Teresa International University proudly became the first private university-level institution to open the Graduate Diploma Program in Teaching Profession (International Program).

    The program consists of 12 courses (34 credit hours) and training program (7 credit hours) that shall be covered for three terms. Throughout the last two semesters of the program, students will need to partake in internship training at local schools in order to gain significant real-world teaching experiences. Courses such as Principles of Teaching Profession, Self-Actualization for Teachers, Language and Culture for Teachers, Psychology for Teachers, Curriculum and Learning Management, Educational Innovation and Information Technology, Learning Measurement, and Evaluation and Educational Quality Management have been designed to further advance your expertise in teaching and educational development. Once you complete our 18-month program, you will be eligible to take the license exam from the Teacher’s Council of Thailand. After successfully passing the said exam, you will be granted the official/permanent teaching license.

    Program Objectives

    • Provide bachelor’s degree holders in any discipline the professional knowledge, training, practical examples, and background on the varied facts of education that will prepare them to manage classroom activities with greater competence and confidence.
    • Develop the academic leadership qualities of participants through a relevant and update curriculum geared towards educational reforms.
    • Provide in-depth exposure to Thai education, ethics and culture.
    • Deepen knowledge and understanding of the curriculum development.
    • Enhance skill in interpersonal relationship, effective communication, critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making.
    • Enrich teaching with the use of Technology

    Extra-Curricular Activities

    At St Teresa, we offer various extra curricular activities such as academic seminars, religious and morality training, community services, and traditional Thai ceremonies. All activities are aimed at giving you a solid understanding of Thailand’s rich culture and dynamic educational system.

    Accreditation

    The Graduate Program is under the supervision of the Teachers Council of Thailand and the Office of the Commission of Higher Education.

    Before You Apply

    • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (in any discipline)
    • Candidates must be a school teacher and have an employment contract which is valid through the date of admission
      • The valid employment contract must state that the candidate is appointed to the position of teacher, the candidate must submit the appointment letter stating the grades and subjects that the candidate is assigned to teach.
      • A temporary teaching permit for the applicant to teach in a given school and grades/subjects (if any).
      • Candidates must submit the following documentation:
        1. Copy of Passport (bio page and the latest visa stamp)
        2. Copy of Valid Work Permit
        3. Copy of Temporary Teaching Permit issued by the Teacher’s Council of Thailand (Khurusapha)
        4. Copy of Teacher’s Current Employment Contract in a K-12 School.
        5. Copy of Certificate and Transcript of Records of Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree in any academic discipline from accredited institution (if any)
        6. Copy of Certificates of English Language Proficiency Test Results (TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)

        (Applicants may submit the above-mentioned documents in form of photographs or scanned copies.)

    UPDATE : Effective January 2021 candidates are required to have a teacher’s employment contract or temporary teaching permits in order to gain admission into the program.
