While saying accountants have attained “rock star” status would be a stretch, many today are referring to accounting as something of an art. So, perhaps “artist” may be more suitable. Gone are the days when accountants hid in closet-like offices. Today, accountants practice their artistry smack dab in the middle of a company, skillfully combining in-depth knowledge of a company’s financials with a thorough understanding of the firm’s decision-making process to make the best financial decisions at any given time.
